SONOFF S26

Hello,

I have just received 2 x Sonoff S26R2.

There is no more tx rx gd and vcc pins like with the former S20. Now I have to solder...

I have 3 questions:

1) What does "PUYA" stand for? This word is used in the forum and seems to be related to the S26 and would require a specific espeasy version.

2) Is there a way to know which flash size the S26R2 have? I can't find the answer even at sonoff.

3) which ESP_Easy_mega* version would you advise me to use the sonoff with basic functions ?

Regards
Gilles

PUYA is the brand of notoriously incompatable flash chips used on some Sonoff devices.
Support for PUYA chips is included in 1M builds.

I read in another thread (https://templates.blakadder.com/sonoff_S26R2.html) that the sonoff S26R2 runs a esp8285 with 1M flash.
Does it make a difference or can I still use ESP_Easy_mega_20230623_normal_ESP8266_1M.bin.
I prefer to ask before burning it :)

I found the answer :
N.B. Starting 2022/07/23, 1M ESP8266 builds can also be used on ESP8285 units and thus there is no longer a specific ESP8285 build anymore.
