AP Mode and ESPEasy P2P Networking

#1 Post by Riewekooche » 15 Jul 2023, 09:34

Hi there,

I've an installation where i use one ESP12f inside the house which communicates to another one outside by using the P2P networking (inside my private WLAN).
Working fine.

Is it possible to use the build-in AP-Mode doing the same communcation without a WLAN?

I tried to set both Esps to AP-Mode. But they dont speak together.
What should i put into the fields inside the config-page?

Greetings
Thomas

Nope, the UDP packets are not routed to the AP interface.

What (big maybe) might work (but probably not reliable) is to have one ESP working as AP and the others connect to it.
But that's severely limited as you can only have upto 4 clients connected to the same AP and I doubt the packet forwarding will be enabled on the AP mode of the ESP.
