Hello,
I have several ESB8266 running. However, with different software versions, e.g.: ESP_Easy_mega_20210223_normal_alt_wifi_ESP8266_1M
But I want this update / flash to the version: ESP_Easy_mega_20221224_normal_ESP8266_4M1M.
Can I make a data backup, flash the ESP8266 and then load the data backup again?
Or do I have to re-enter everything?

Re: Change software version
The 1M version (for use on ESPs with 1MB of flash) has a different flash layout than a 4M1M version (for use on ESPs with 4MB of flash), so that's not directly upgradable, but you can download the configuration, replace the ESP and upload the downloaded file as config.dat to the new unit. As long as you stay on the same CPU-type (ESP8266) that should work. You can't move the config from ESP8266 to ESP32 or vise-versa, because the config layout is different, and they have a different number of tasks (12 vs 32).
