Capacitive sensor for LeafWetness

#1 Post by Ton_vN » 14 Dec 2021, 17:53

Collateral harvest of experiment with LeafWetness-sensing:
capacitive moisture sensor experimentally installed as leafwetness-device.
Reading by PCF8591 [=4* 8bits ADC].
Results (just for info):
1) Read-out from LDR clearly identifies daylight-conditions
2) Read-out by capacitive sensor makes sense, because moist conditions can be recognised
[some form of scaling still to be invented by trial&error]
3) Read-out from NTC not very useful.

Suggested scaling-formula in ESPEasy [ ;) 'wet finger', very coarsely putting display of value between 0=dry and 100=wet] is (%value% - 100) * 2
