NodeMCU firmware flashing does not work

#1 Post by loes7815 » 08 Jun 2016, 14:42

Hi!

Maybe a simple problem, but I can't get it to work properly.
I got a ESP-01 module with a FTDI, I hooked it up to my pc to flash the NodeMCU firmware on the ESP.
But I got the same problem as the guy in this tutorial:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gh_pgqjfeQc
The NodeMCU firmware programmer is searching for the ESP, but can't get to find it in some way.
The guy in the tutorial fixed it by disconnecting and connecting the power supply to the ESP, but that does not the trick for my ESP.

A couple weeks back I tried the ESP and send some simple AT commands, so I guess this causes the problem.
Does anyone have the solution to get it to work?

Check the driver in Device Manager, look for a colored warning triangle. If that is there, you need to go back to the older FTDI driver.
Also, make sure the two signal lines are connected properly.
