Plugin for zero cross detection?

#1 Post by DMeekelenkamp » 03 Dec 2015, 17:17

Would it be possible to detect zero cross from the mains so we can dim 220v lighting with the esp module?

Or would this be more a task for the connexio?

I would appreciate a solution for this too very much.

@DMeekelenkamp:
Do you already have a particular dimmer circuit/modul in mind?
Would be great to have a simple dimmer module with 2 connections (zero-crossing & turn-off) for the ESPEasy. (could not find one on aliexpress/ebay yet)

I do not believe this can be done on the ESP.
You would need a permanent connection to the mains while a powersupply is not a integrated part of a ESPEasy module.
A lot of people will feed the circuit from a USB-like powersource or even a battery with sleep mode.

Found this on the Internet:

A zero cross detection 0-3v mains dimmer can be used with the esp8266 maybe worth a try.
