No connection to webinterface

#1 Post by kvn298 » 17 Aug 2023, 17:24

I have 3 ESPEasy Devices for switching my valves with fhem. After installation in 2022 everything works fine. But now i had to switch of the circuitbreaker and after switching this on no one of the devices is reachable on the webinterface. One device i can see in the networklist of the fritzbox. but i cant get on the webinterface. i rebootet them a few times but nothing changes.
Does anybody know what i can do?

No reflashing ;-)

Thanks!

What kind of devices are these?
Sonoff Basic ones?

The reason I'm asking is that those are notorious for having bad power supplies with capacitors which hardly are enough to run a stable power supply when they are new.
Let alone with aged capacitors, which are known to loose capacitance over time.

Since the ESP does some things which may require a stable power supply during cold boot, my theory is that the WiFi calibration is now off after you had to power cycle them.
So ageing capacitors could remain unnoticed for quite a long time, until you need to reboot them.

Can you ping the nodes from anywhere in the network?
How constant is the ping response time?

Are you trying to access the web interface from another subnet?
The default setting in ESPEasy is to only allow from local subnet...
But that should at least return some HTTP error code and some plain text error message.

Can you connect any of the NodeMCU's to an USB serial on your computer, and use a terminal program to look at the serial logs. Terminal (ESPEasy default) settings should be 115200 baud, 8 data bits, No parity, 1 stop bit. That should work, unless you disabled the Serial Console in Tools/Advanced .

Also please check the GPIO pins used, and compare that to the Boot state related failures, as documented here
Maybe disconnecting a few GPIO pins will enable the units to boot again.
