Support ESP32 S2 ?

#1 Post by Oetsch » 03 Feb 2023, 08:39

Good day together,

started a new test setup with one of my first ESP32 and its a ESP32 S2 like this:https://www.wemos.cc/en/latest/s2/s2_mini.html

First I was happy to see that not the full package of ESPEasy has to be downloaded any more and there is the Web Installer possibility. Big Thx!

Then tried to flash with the ESP32 4M normal version but received the message that ESP32S2 is not supported.

How is this to be understood? In general for espeasy? According this: https://github.com/letscontrolit/ESPEasy/issues/3578

Or is this only applicable for the web tool? Inside of the full mega release the flash-tool also is changed so I´m not sure if this is good idea to do my first try without having clear knowdledge before destroying the ESP32 with faulty tries.

Hope that I did not missed theses information by searching in the espeasy wiki for it.

Thank you for your hints.

There are also several ESPEasy builds available for ESP32s2, just scroll to the end of the list of the Web installer, the section is called ESP32-S2-4M

The Wiki is really outdated on many points (though still not all documentation is transferred to ReadTheDocs)
The current official ESPEasy documentation is here

Big Thx.

Edit: In case somebody is also trying. Realy not easy by doing this the first time and this topic helped a lot. It´s essential to press the button(s) right (open serial communication) to flash this device: https://www.letscontrolit.com/forum/vie ... php?t=9182
