What part is working to build your own version and what isn't?
Which playground plugin do you want to integrate and what errors do you get?
How do you try to build it? VScode & PlatformIO or Arduino IDE?

I feel the same way, I can upload and configure the finished bin-files, but I'm not sure how to integrate files from the playground into the projects.
Personally I would be interested in the integration of a BME680 sensor on a Wemos ESP mini.

I think there are a few prerequisites here:
- You are capable of doing (simple) software development on ESPEasy (see: PlatformIO (preferred) or Arduino IDE to get started)
- You get the plugin-source from the playground into your local development environment
And now for the hard part:
- Adjust the source to comply to the (quite recently) changed structure of ESPEasy, so it compiles without errors...
- Make it work as intended (testing, testing and: testing ;) )

DFPlayer has been a plugin in current ESPEasy for quite some time, it is available in 'test' builds, so you should be able to use it.

Simple changes to the source code I can certainly manage, but I have only worked with Arduino IDE so far. I installed PlatformIO, but the ESPEasy project confused me a bit, because it's very big and I couldn't find a way to make the necessary changes.
That's why I also suggested a very simple extension from Playgound as an example.
So as I said, I can load the normal project and then I somehow don't get any further.
A short Skype presentation with recording or a short video would surely help some of you.

Something like this (about installing PIO in Windows)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArqwMcYSMsU ?

N.B. video montage is terrible as I was not able back then to actually see what I was cutting and only could see it after rendering.
Now with a computer not showing video over an USB-C dock, it should work better for newer videos.

This is a great video for the installation and it certainly took a lot of time.
It doesn't have to be that professional, I think with Skype you could easily present an example and theoretically you could also record it directly and share it later.
