Setting up environment for compiling

#1 Post by ulfh2018 » 19 Feb 2018, 07:04

I am trying to set up Arduino environment for compiling ESPEasy-Mega, which i downloaded from GitHub, but I get tons of compilation errors on .h files missing, so I must be missing something. I have installed the latest libraries for the ESP8266 board (2.4).
Can someone tell me where to find information about what to do?

Best regards

Ulf

Thanks a lot! Have tried to follow the advice, but i get the following error:

#error ESPEasy v2.0 only support Arduino core 2.3.0. (Use the ESPEasy development branch to fix this)

Do I use the wrong source, and if so what can I do. Have tried the links on the wiki, but they are not valid

In the arduino IDE, it is quite easy to install the older version using the library manager.

Thanks a lot -- but I'm not very familiar with this IDE. I tried to start the library manager, but was not able to find anything like library core 2.3.0.

I tried to follow the instructions at https://www.letscontrolit.com/wiki/inde ... Platformio to use Atom instead of the the Arduino IDE. Took me some time to set it up, but compilation worked 100 % at first attempt! Looks like that's the way to go.

There are a few questions about using Atom, but I'll put that in another post.

Thanks a lot for the advises I have got - nice to see people care!

All the best

Ulf :D :D :D
