ESP8266 has TX and RX on GPIO1 and GPIO3. If we does not have enough ports (on ESP-01 it is common ) and does not need serial connection we can reconfigure this ports to anything else (as any other GPIO).
While there are many examples using GPIO1 and GPIO3 to other use-cases than RX and TX, ESPEasy seems like it can not configure it for SDA and SCL (it is disabled in the dropdown).
Is there some good reason why this ports are disabled to be used?
How to override it?

They are not....
But as long as they are used for serial the can't be SDA/scl.
First deactivate serial port under advanced. Then gpio1&3 will be available for i2c under hardware
