Pulse conter esp-12F
Can i use esp-12f for pulse counter on electrycity meter with installed photo resistor ?
Some Raspeberry Pi's, Arduinos, Esp8266, solar panels 1500w, 2 lakes,6 ha fields, German shepherd and more
Re: Pulse conter esp-12F
Hello,
the ESP-12F has several GPIO's so it should be no problem to connect a pulse counter.
From the description of the witty board i see that GPIO 16, 14 and 5 are not connected to any board specific parts.
You may connect the pulse counter's "+" to one of these GPIO's, e.g. GPIO 5.
Connect the "-" pin from the connector to ground.
Use a resistor (3,3K ... 10 K) to pull up the GPIO, connect one side to the GPIO 5 and the other to 3,3 V ( do NOT use 5V !!!)
In the ESPEasy Setup go to "Devices", select an empty task and chose "pulse counter" as device.
You will see a form to fill out
Give a name, set a delay to update (depends a bit on how you want to use the counter values).
Just for tinkering you can use short values, eg 2 or 5 seconds.
Set IDX to a nuber between 1 and 255, or if you use Domotics set it to the value Domotics gives you for the measurement.
Debounce time can be short here as you don't use a mechanical switch. 1... 2 should work.
Choose a counter type according to your needs.
That should work as a base for further optimizing for your needs.
