Problem flashing Adafruit Feather Huzzah ESP8266

#1 Post by gfield » 10 Oct 2021, 17:29

Hello!

I got an Adafruit Feather Huzzah ESP8266 module which I can't flash it using the ESP Easy Flasher (0.04.007). The COM-port does not show up (see attached image).
  • I'm using Windows 10.
  • I can find the ESP8266 module under "Manage Devices" as a COM-port (Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge)
  • I have successfully flashed the ESP8266 module using Arduino IDE (using a simple LED-blink "sketch").
  • I've tried to run ESP Easy Flasher as administrator
  • I've tried removing the "settings" folder for ESP Easy Flasher
What could be the issue?

Some USB to serial chips are not recognized in this flasher.
You can use Espressif's flasher, which is also included in the zip.
