Raspberry pi 4 to NAS

Hallo everyone,
As a project, I thought it would be a fun idea to turn a raspberry pi 4 (https://elektronicavoorjou.nl/product/r ... del-b-1gb/) to a NAS.
I have looked up some tutorials online but I still haven't gotten very far. I am not sure which steps I need to take, the tutorials that I have found on the internet doesn't really work for me.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

There are many raspberry pi nas projects on the internet, but maybe not specifically for the pi 4 as it is the same as the others for that application.

In any case this form does not have much to do with the raspberry pi platform.

In line with the message of Drum it may have more benefits to dedicate the Raspberry4 for 'real work', and convert another 'less capable' processor into a NAS-Driver.

A side-argument, but not without reason they sometimes propose to recycle an old PC as platform for FreeNAS
[although an old PC generally is more 'powerhungry' than a Raspberry and alike, which is negative for 24/7-operation].

If you still want to build a NAS... I have done it this way:

INTEL NUC 8i5with Proxmox

- VM: OMV with Nextcloud etc dockered
- LXC: 1. Grafana, 2. IOBroker, 3. motionEye, 4. dokuwiki, 5. piHole, ...

6-12 Watts of power consumption

don't waste your time with raspberrys, if you have to run various applications. try Proxmox
