User projects showcase

#1 Post by Martinus » 21 Oct 2017, 14:42

We would like to encourage all our members on this forum to show their custom projects on the wiki to help and inspire other LetsControlIt members.

To avoid conflicts or confusion with 'formal documentation', it's preferred to use the existing "User:" namespace for this purpose.
And to avoid confusion with upload file naming, please use this naming convention to upload your images:

User-<username>-<filename>

Sample:

https://www.letscontrolit.com/wiki/index.php/User:Demo

Remember that LetsControlIt is just about having fun with controlling stuff. Your projects could use RFLink and/or ESP Easy and maybe in the near future uPyEasy. Do you still have interesting Nodo projects in use? Just add it to the Wiki. Or inform others on how you migrated Nodo to RFLink and/or ESPEasy... Build your own project with custom source code that you want to support? Just add to the wiki and include a link to github (or any other code repository)

We have seen lots of project samples on this forum, but it would be better to have them structured on our wiki with a organized list on the main wiki page.

We do not have much help on how to work with our wiki but it uses MediaWiki and you can just google lots of information about this wiki engine.
Or just ask our help on this forum.

Let's hope that others share your opinion...

To get things started, I've added some of my applications. I have to admin that these are based on old Nodo hardware, so their use cases are likely limited. But we have to start somewhere and i hope that this could inspire others to share their fun with us.

Just requested access to start contribute to this area of the Wiki :)

Great initiative, I think it can bring a lot of interest and I'm sure we have plenty of valuable contributors here that can show their work

Is it possible to have this section also as a link collection?

Myself have a blog and I see others do as well. These individuals might not want to have to maintain two places and the wordpress blog lets you do more "easy on the eye" stuff compared to mediawiki.

Just a thought, please elaborate. :ugeek:

How can i make "subfolders" or "subdirectories" in the wiki?
Is it possible at all?
It might get a bit long-ish if i put several projects on a single User:<name> page.

We could probably use foldable sections so we still can use one single page but it will not feel really long.

thanks grovkillen, indeed it was in the spam but the temp password in the email simply just doesnt' work (maybe it is expired?).
I tried to "reset password" from the form but as well I did not get any email...

@Martinus, any chance you can resend my request for activation?

EDIT: Never mind, after trying password reset 3 times at least the email come in and I succeed to login and setup proper password!

Found it, Thanks...
Some projects already loaded, more to follow.

A link to user project page is missing on the main page :)
