Re: Bluetooth beacons for proximity detection

The radar modules look interesting, but then the bags of water will not have name tags, right? :)
Haven't yet understood what the gain is compared to very inexpensive PIR sensors?

Bluetooth beacons for proximity detection

I found a project called espresense that can register BLE beacons and their distance from the ESP-unit. It would be nice to have this kind of feature on my existing ESPEasy installations. It might already be possible, just that I haven't found it. Any thoughts on this? Others that might find it usef...

Re: ST7735S

Yep, I have tried that too. I found an arduino example for using SPI towards a display that used resistors for bringing down the voltage as it defaults to 5V and the displays need 3.3V. Not only for the VCC but also for the SPI connections. Is that something that is needed with the ESP's as well? In...

Re: ST7735S

Thanks for your response Ath. I tried that, as well. Right now, I have all cables connected between the Lolin S3 Mini and the ST7735S. I have tried moving the SPI interface(MOSI,MISO,CLK) to custom GPIO ports, changing the optional pins to new GPIOs. Still nothing. Connections from S3 mini --> ST773...

ST7735S

Hi, I just received a display module with a ST7735S that I am trying to light up with the ST77xx module. Since I am having issues getting anything on the display I started looking for problems. One thing I found was that the chip was a ST7735S instead of a ST7735 that is mentioned in the documentati...

Re: Larger displays that work with ESPEasy?

Thanks. Now I have some more info to go on. I will try the LCD1602s first to see how readable they are from a distance.

Larger displays that work with ESPEasy?

I have just ordered a couple of LCD1602 displays just to test if I can get it to work. It could be that those displays are only readable from a close range? Does anyone have any suggestion for something that works smoothly with ESPEasy that is readable from about 3 meters away? I found a few LCD2004...

Re: Seting variable on dummy device from Homey

Thanks for the feedback Ath. I will keep this in mind for when the number of ESPs grows :)

Re: Seting variable on dummy device from Homey

Thanks for the replies. Appreciate the help! I tried it this morning and the solution I got working did not use the rules. Just a direct call to TaskValueSet. Please let me know if this is not a good option. For those on the same quest later. What I did in Homey was to create a flow triggered by a s...

Re: Seting variable on dummy device from Homey

Homey can easily make outgoing HTTP calls with sensor data as query string parameters. Inbound calls to extract sensor data seem to be a bit more tricky. Regarding MQTT, there are packages for installing a local server and a client on Homey but I currently don't have those installed. So, If I instal...

Seting variable on dummy device from Homey

Hello everyone, I just ordered a couple of LCD1602 I2C displays from Aliexpress with the intention of showing local sensor data in a custom-printed case with a Lolin S2 Mini. I am using a Homey as the heart of my home automation and getting data into Homey from ESPEasy is quite simple with the ESPEa...

Re: How to Flash ESP32-S2 / Wemos S2 mini v1.0.0 purple pcb with usb-c

Thanks, I will update the previous post with the image as an attachment. Since it worked it might help someone else. I used "post flash actions" when installing my D1 boards to configure wifi so I didn't think of the AP mode. I was set on finding that com port to send the post flash action...

Re: How to Flash ESP32-S2 / Wemos S2 mini v1.0.0 purple pcb with usb-c

Here is the link to wemos page on it: https://www.wemos.cc/en/latest/s2/s2_mini.html It has a button that can be pressed during boot/reset for entering Device Firmware Upgrade (DFU) mode and i would guess that connects GPIO0 to GND? When in that mode, I get the COM port in windows and i can flash th...

Re: How to Flash ESP32-S2 / Wemos S2 mini v1.0.0 purple pcb with usb-c

I managed to flash the card but I must have done something wrong since now I can only get the COM port show up in windows when the card is in flashing mode. The normal mode COM port never shows up so I cant connect and configure it. Image flashed: ESP_Easy_mega_20220809_normal_ESP32s2_4M316k.factory...

Re: How to Flash ESP32-S2 / Wemos S2 mini v1.0.0 purple pcb with usb-c

I'm new to ESPEasy but i have it running on a couple of Wemos D1 mini's. When installing the images on the D1's I used the ESP.Easy.Flasher were the com port was identified and i just selected the "normal" build for my chip. I tried the same on one of my S2 mini boards but the tool does no...
